Who has access to your data:

We only share your data with other parties when it is absolutely necessary for our services. These include delivery partners, suppliers or repair services, product support, payment partners, IT service providers, and parties that collect reviews for us. For instance, our delivery partners need your information to deliver your order to the correct address. Data management platforms, media and advertising agencies, and research firms may be involved when we want to provide you with personalized advice or display targeted advertisements, such as based on your interest in certain products. In suspicious situations, we are obligated to share customer data with government authorities.

The parties that gain access to your data from us may only use it to provide a service on our behalf (schwa-medico), unless they are independently responsible for obtaining and protecting your data. Some cookie developers have access to the data that cookies on our website collect. You can read more about this in our cookie policy and the privacy policies of these parties. We never sell your data to third parties.

Where is your data stored:

We store your data in various databases. We always implement strict security measures. Therefore, your data is almost always stored within the European Union. In the exceptional case that customer data is transferred to countries outside the European Union, we ensure that your privacy is appropriately protected. For certain countries, this protection is officially established (see https://www.privacyshield.gov/country). Some American parties are registered under the Privacy Shield, which provides adequate protection (see https://www.privacyshield.gov/Program-Overview). Alternatively, we work with official contracts specifically designed to safeguard your privacy.

How long your data is stored:

We do not store or use your data longer than necessary. After that, we delete all the data we have about you. Alternatively, we anonymize your data if we need certain data for internal analyses and reports, such as the value of your order.

Below are the retention periods:

  • Recorded phone calls are deleted after 28 days unless we have a legal obligation to retain a conversation for a longer period.
  • Camera footage from our stores is stored for no longer than 28 days unless we observe suspicious activity that requires further investigation or the footage needs to be retained longer due to another legal obligation.
  • Order data, including name, address, postal code, city, phone number, ordered products, invoice, and payment details, is stored without a time limit because we use this data for analysis and handling of matters such as warranties. Of course, you always have the right to modify or view the data or have it removed/anonymized by us.
  • If you have your product repaired or replaced by schwa-medico, we store your warranty request and contact details. Afterward, we use your data only anonymously for internal reports.
  • If you have subscribed to the newsletter or given consent to receive personalized messages, we retain that consent. Even if you decide at some point that you no longer wish to receive the newsletter or personalized messages, we retain the withdrawal of your consent. Each newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Data we use to prevent fraud is stored indefinitely.

What rights do you have?

Of course, you remain in control of your data. Would you like to access your personal data and receive a copy? Or would you like to modify, delete, restrict its use, or adjust your email preferences? No problem. You can do this by letting us know via post or email. This way, you can also object to the use of your data for marketing purposes or indicate that you believe your privacy outweighs our interests. In that case, we will review the situation again.

Unsubscribing from the newsletter is straightforward. You can do this via the link in the newsletter itself. And if you no longer want cookies at all, you can manage that yourself as well. Check our cookie policy to see how you can do this.

Please note that we may ask you for additional information when processing a request to ensure that you are the person making the request.
